The standard fee is $25,000 in US dollars, due in full at signing and generally nonrefundable. Veterans, active-duty military personnel, and buyers signing a second or later agreement qualify for a $20,000 fee. These discounts may be changed or withdrawn. Refund exceptions are explained below.

Selected fees

  • RoyaltyGreater of 6% of monthly Gross Revenue or $400 per month.

    Gross Revenue includes all sales from the studio or under the agreement, whether collected or not. Payment is monthly by electronic transfer. Minimum royalty and Brand Fund payments continue during temporary closures.

  • Advertising contributionBrand Fund: greater of 1% of monthly Gross Revenue or $70 per month.

    The percentage may increase to 3% of monthly Gross Revenue; the $70 monthly minimum still applies. Fund spending need not match your contribution or benefit your area directly. This contribution is separate from local marketing spending.

  • Local marketingAt least $250 per calendar month after the first 90 days of operation.

    In the first 90 days after opening, spend at least $2,100, including $1,200 on branded materials. Advertising needs prior written approval; document spending or be billed for shortfalls. If a cooperative forms, you must join and contribute. Cooperative contributions count toward required local spending and are separate from the Brand Fund.
