Upfront investment

USD. Includes the franchise fee and nine-month operating allowance. Assumes leased premises of 2,200-3,200 sq. ft., equipment purchases and $78,458-$182,449 in landlord contributions that may not be available. See the startup-budget FAQ for further conditions.
Selected fees
Gross Sales includes product, service and gift-card revenue, barter, complimentary services and business-interruption insurance proceeds. It excludes massage therapist and esthetician tips, taxes collected and paid to government, and credited customer allowances.
An increase requires written notice and takes effect January 1 of the following calendar year. If the national rate increases, the local advertising percentage decreases by the same amount. These are selected major obligations, not a complete operating budget.
Paid to the franchisor, its advertising agency or designee to administer advertising in your designated market area. Advertising content and media require approval. This is separate from the national fund contribution.
